Shawitekia Johnson, a successful entrepreneur and owner of SMJ Tax Firm and Associates, has been in the tax business since 2009. After working for TurboTax for three years and enhancing her knowledge through classes and seminars, she started her own home-based tax business while maintaining a full-time administrative role. She also spent seven years at ADP, where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resources.

In addition to her tax business, She is married with five children and is dedicated to achieving more successful businesses and multiple streams of income.

Passionate about helping troubled teen girls become Godly women, Shawitekia serves at her church in the children’s ministry and on the youth leadership board. Her favorite scripture is Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me."

Shakela has over a decade of dedicated experience, she is a highly skilled tax professional who has been meeting the diverse needs of clients since 2010. Shakela began her career with H&R Block, where she developed a strong foundation in tax preparation and advocacy. After two years, she furthered her expertise by joining Jackson Hewitt, where she obtained her TPIN, and meeting IRS standards. 

In 2022, Shakela joined SMJ Tax Firm and Associates, bringing her wealth of experience and dedication to client success. Known for her meticulous attention to detail and her drive to secure maximum refunds for clients while adhering to IRS regulations, Shakela ensures every client experience is both successful and compliant. 

Outside of work, She is a proud mother of three, and her family inspires her dedication and hard work. She enjoys traveling, spending time with loved ones, reading and cooking. 

 Sherita Sturgis brings dedication, precision, and a deep commitment to compliance in her role as the Administrator at SMJ Tax Firm and Associates. Joining the firm in 2023, Sherita focuses on ensuring that every aspect of the firm’s operations aligns with the latest tax regulations, creating a reliable and seamless experience for clients. Her attention to detail and knowledge of tax law compliance are invaluable in maintaining the firm’s high standards of service and integrity.
